Committee development is something that will be underway in 2009. Please continue to check back for updates on various Committees if you cannot commit to becoming a MoCA Board Member, but wish to hold an active role within the Association.

Kathy Chiaravalli
Kathy has been a global business leader for more than twenty years and
has led a wide range of human resource functions in global consumer
products, automotive, high tech, and service organizations. She is
currently an independent global human resource consultant with a focus
in Total Rewards. Kathy has a Masters degree in Human Resources from
Cornell University and a Bachelors degree in Economics from the
University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has been a Global Team Advisor
for the ACA and currently co- chairs the Detroit International Special
Interest Group of SHRM. She has also taught numerous HR related
courses and has published four articles related to Human Resources.
Kathy has recently renewed her MoCA membership having been an active
participant in prior years.

Katherine Zbanek
Kathryn has been involved with MoCA and World at Work since 2000. She
formerly served on the MoCA Board as the VP of Communications. Kathryn
is currently a Compensation Consultant with Kelly Services and is
responsible for a variety of projects and programs across the
organization. She has over 10 years of Human Resource experience,
focused primarily in compensation. Kathryn has a Bachelors degree in
Interdisciplinary Studies from Michigan State University.

Tonjia Poole
Tonjia has been a Human Resource professional for over 20 years with
experience in both Healthcare and Manufacturing. She is currently a
Compensation Consultant at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and is
responsible for a variety of projects and programs related to
non-bargaining and bargaining compensation. Tonjia has been a member of
World at Work and MoCA since 2001. She holds a Bachelors degree from
Eastern Michigan University and CCP certification.

Ben Bush
Ben has been a member of MoCA since 1994. He is a member of
WorldatWork and the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM). He
currently is a Sales Manager for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. He
has been in compensation and benefit leadership positions for over 20
years in the financial, automotive supplier and healthcare industries.

Vice President of Communications & Marketing
Gail Sanderson
Gail brings her unique background in HR management and business
development to her own company, The B2B Connection, which provides sales
and marketing expertise to a variety of human resources related
organizations. Her previous employment was with the American Society of
Employers where she was their first Director of Membership Development.
Gail worked with ASE’s members to increase awareness of the society’s
many human resources consultative services.
Gail brings over 15 years experience in human resources, having held
management positions with Kelly Services and ANR Pipeline. In addition,
she developed innovative sales, marketing and recruitment strategies to
develop business for her former employers, JWT Specialized
Communications and The David Group.
Gail is a graduate of the University of Michigan and is active in an
array of business and civic organizations including Inforum, Haven, COTS

Melanie Stepp
Melanie has been a member of MoCA since 2004 and has over 7 years of
experience in Human Resources in the manufacturing industry, primarily
in compensation. In her current role as the Manager of Organization
Development for Freudenberg-NOK, she focuses on strategic organizational
development issues covering the Freudenberg companies in the North
American region and supports the effort to strengthen cross-group
cooperation. She holds an M.B.A and a Bachelors degree in Human

Craig Love
Craig has been a member of MoCA for 4 years and World at Work for 5
years. He has over eleven years of experience in Human Resources and
has been with CSC for over ten years. He is currently a Senior Manager
of Compensation. Craig has a Bachelors degree from Michigan State
